“헐, 우리가 알던 귀요미 펭귄 맞아?”…심각한 ‘지구온난화’로 모두를 경악에 빠뜨린 남극 펭귄 근황.jpg

지구온난화로 인해 충격적으로 모습이 변한 남극 펭귄의 근황이 전해져 논란이 일고있다.

지난 16일 내셔널지오그래픽은 “남극이 영상 20도라는 기록 상 최대치를 찍었다. 기온이 올라가 얼음과 눈이 녹아 진흙이 되었고 새끼 펭귄들은 깃털에 방수 기능이 없어 오랫동안 젖은 상태로 있게 된다”며 펭귄 사진을 올렸다. 

그들이 올린 펭귄 사진은 가히 충격적이었다. 우리가 흔히 생각하는 뽀송한  털에 귀여운 모습이 아닌, 진흙 범벅으로 색깔이 완전 갈색이 된 모습이었다. 

털에 방수 기능이 없는 새끼 펭귄들은 젖은 상태로 오래 노출되면 저체온증으로 사망할 수 있어 위험하다. 

이 사진은 남극에서 영상 20도라는 말도안되는 날씨로 인한 것으로, 놀라울 정도로 가속화되고 있는 지구 온난화 모습을 적나라하게 보여주는 사진이었다. 

이를 접한 네티즌들은 “인간이 제일 나쁘다”, “펭귄이 너무 불쌍한 표정을 짓고 있어서 더 맘이 아프다”, “진짜 대책이 시급하다”등의 반응을 보였다.
